50 Nights of Lights 2019 - in Downtown Cleveland, MS

This past weekend we got to experience the incredible Christmas light display of “50 Nights of Lights” in downtown Cleveland, MS on Saturday. Through November and December, the town will feature their renown Christmas display numbering over 100,000 lights spanning the length of their Main Street. It was really quite impressive! The girls loved it and had a great time. The whole town came out and took part in the music, food trucks, pics with Santa, festivities, and shopping. Cleveland has a really nice revitalized main street and downtown area sprinkled with boutiques, shops, and restaurants. We always love stopping by Hey Joe’s & Mosquito Burrito as well as The Grammy Museum and the Martin & Sue King Railroad Museum. There’s events going right on up until Christmas so be sure to check out the schedule of events. Highly recommend stopping by and checking out Cleveland, MS!

The Brand Spankin' New Children's Museum in New Orleans, LA.

I know, though technically not in Mississippi, the new Louisiana Children’s Museum just opened up and we couldn’t help ourselves from checking it out. I was headed there anyway to drop off a painting and we figured might as well make a fun day trip out of it. The new museum is pretty incredible. It’s huge! Has lots to do for kids of all ages both indoor and outdoor. The exhibits are numerous and plenty on two floors; baby/toddler area, bubble area, grocery store, music room, river system, art studio, courtyard, outdoor play fort area, library, machine area, and more. There’s a large restaurant on the first floor as well as gift shop. With the museum perched on the water the views are incredible! Lots of areas just to lounge and enjoy the scenery from the deck. We can’t wait to go back!
