Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation Announces Annual “Bright

Lights” Event

On Sunday, August 27th, 2023, the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation

(GBNF) will host its 17th annual music festival, now named Bright Lights. In the past,

Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights was held on Saturday evening. This year, our signature

event is scheduled for an entire Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm. It will continue to offer a

family-friendly music and street festival and it will showcase the creative fabric of

Belhaven, bringing together the neighborhood to reconnect and celebrate all things

Belhaven! This will be a progressive day of events, starting at Sunflower Oven, then

moving towards Urban Foxes, and ending at Fertile Ground and Belhaven Town Center.

Belhaven businesses will provide signature food or beverages; several locations will host

local musical talent; and vendors will be open for business, including Jxn Flea, B&B

Market, and other local pop-ups.

Belhaven’s Bright Lights will be a free event! Rain or shine, participants can register for

a passport at The Oaks Museum from 10 am until 2 pm on the day of the event. The

passport encourages participants to visit various bright spots within the neighborhoods

– our cafés, bakeries, breweries, markets, murals, museums, and restaurants, among

others. After participants visit Belhaven’s “bright lights” for a stamp in their passport,

they can validate a completed passport for instant prizes.
