Canton’s Christmas festival continues to create memories with new attractions
Once again, more than 200,000 twinkling white lights will sparkle and light up the city’s Historic Courthouse Square, bringing the magic and nostalgia of the holidays, along with thousands of visitors, to Canton. We are proud to announce our title sponsor is Trustmark Bank.
Back this year is the interactive Christmas Village, giving children the opportunity to make reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer to eat on Christmas Eve. Frosty will be near his igloo handing out marshmallows to roast by his fire, and Santa’s elves will pass out magical classes that make the Christmas lights in Canton come to life in special shapes! The interactive Christmas Village is designed to allow children to take home their memories from the Canton Christmas festival while creating special memories with the characters.
To take full advantage of the festival’s breathtaking night-time views, festival hours will be 5-9 p.m. Nov. 29 - Dec. 1. Activities will start back up for nightly festival fun Dec. 6 - Dec. 23. From 5 to 9.
Throughout the month, several merchants around the Square will have extended holiday hours and will offer a respite from the hectic, big-box-store experience. Shoppers can stroll the sidewalks and enjoy the season, immersed in lights and holiday music, as they pop into gift shops, vintage stores and boutiques for unique items, special sales and samples.
Light and character parades, at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturday nights throughout the festival’s run, enhance the family fun with a chance to meet favorite princesses, superheroes and more.
Princess Parade Night is new this year! On December 14th, come dressed in your princess costumes and meet your favorite Princesses.
The city’s animation museums will be open from 5-9 p.m. The historical museum features replicas of past merchants on Canton’s Historic Square; the other museum will delight youngsters with themed Christmas trees, including animation penguin figures enjoying a winter day around the park!

Be sure to check out the newest rides, the Sky Race (located on the courthouse square grounds) and the Bungee Jump.
On December 7th at 6 p.m., enjoy the holiday film Christmas in Mississippi on the big screen followed by a lively discussion about what makes your hometown holiday special. Then, enjoy the movie and some holiday cheer with Door Prizes and Light Refreshments!
Food Vendors this year include Funny Face Foods, Small Town Hot Dogs, and Chunky Dunks.
T-Shirts will be on sale for $10 at our office located on the Square.
