Each year, on the first Saturday of December, come and see the arrival of Santa Claus on a water-propelled sleigh in Deer Creek. This year's event will be held on December 4, 2021
This Saturday, just in time for the lighting of the floats and trees on Deer Creek, Santa Clause and some of his elves, are coming from the North Pole for a quick visit to Leland.
They will ride down Deer Creek on his sleigh between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. turning around at the Rainbow Bridge. The Leland Fire Department will be shining spotlights to help him find his way.
Come out and wave at him from the safety of your car or from the creek bank. Please remember.....masks are required and everyone should remain in family units and practice social distancing.
If you miss the opening ceremony, you can still see all of the floats anytime during the month of December. This event has been named one of the "Top Twenty Events in the Southeast."
