National Chess Day

Join MCM as we celebrate National Chess Day for Kindergarten-12th grade. This 1500 year-old game has seen a resurgence in Mississippi this year and brought new life to children as they realize their potential through this strategic and challenging game. Register on site beginning at 9:00 am for one of four divisions: K-3. K-5, K-8, K-12 (K-8 & K-12 sections are USCF Rated). Current USCF Membership is required in K-8 and K-12 divisions. Registration is $15 for Tournament Participants and $5 for each accompanying adult/child. All entry fees include access to the museum exhibits for the day! Chess sets (board/pieces/clocks) will be provided for use during the tournament and trophies to be awarded to the Top 3 players in each division.
