CULLIS & GLADYS WADE CLOCK MUSEUM
The Cullis & Gladys Wade Clock Museum, located in the lobby of the Mississippi State University Welcome Center at the Cullis Wade Depot, showcases an extensive collection of mostly American clocks and watches dating as far back as the early 1700s. Purchased from across the United States, this collection of over 400 clocks represents nearly every American manufacturer of clocks, including Ansonia, Waterbury, W.L. Gilbert, Howard, and a large representation of Seth Thomas clocks.

The Cobb Institute of Archaeology
The Cobb Institute of Archaeology is a research and service unit of the College of Arts & Sciences of Mississippi State University. It was founded in 1971 to promote archaeological research and education at Mississippi State University related to the Middle Eastern origins of Western Civilization and to the Indians of the South, particularly in Mississippi. The Institute's facilities house the Lois Dowdle Cobb Museum of Archaeology and its artifact collections. The Institute also manages a separate facility for the curation of research collections.

Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum
Established in 1976 to celebrate our nation’s 200th birthday, the Heritage Museum is housed in a renovated 1874 Mobile & Ohio railroad depot located at the corner of Russell and Fellowship Streets, in the heart of Starkville, Mississippi. The museum offers a rich view of the history and culture of Starkville and Oktibbeha County through a permanent collection of artifacts that provide a window into our community’s bygone era.

Local Parks
J.L. King Senior Memorial Park & Splash Pad
J.L. King Senior Memorial Park is located at 400 North Long Street. It includes two large multi-purpose fields, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, a lighted walking path, and a public splash pad. The J. L. King Center, pavilion, and play-ground are also located here. The J.L. King Senior Pavilion holds approximately 75 people. The pavilion houses 4 picnic tables and restrooms.

McKee Park
McKee Park is located on Lynn Lane. This park houses 6 youth baseball fields, 4 tennis courts, and 1 basketball court. Its buildings include a centralized concession stand, 2 pavilions, and a 2 restroom facility. The McKee Large pavilion holds approximately 100 people. The pavilion has 5 picnic tables, with restrooms and play-ground nearby.

Moncrief Park
Moncrief Park is located on North Jackson Street. It includes play-ground equipment, an inline hockey court, a pavilion, a public swimming pool, and is home to Starkville’s Dog Park.

Patriot’s Park
Starkville’s newest park, Patriot’s Park, is located at the corner of Whitfield Street and Avenue of Patriots.This community park has a pavilion, play-ground equipment, and lush green space, offering a great spot for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

Nature
Veterans Memorial Rose Garden
The garden is located at the Highway 182 entrance to the R. Rodney Foil Plant Science Research Facility. Rose planting at the site began during spring 2006. By fall 2007, construction was complete, and more than 30 rose cultivars were established at the garden.
The Veterans Memorial Rose Garden includes several classes of roses including Hybrid Tea, Grandiflora, Floribunda, Shrub, and Ground Cover.
Garden Features: The Veterans Memorial Rose Garden offers several features such as: A Central Gazebo, Raised-brick Planting Beds Encircling The Gazebo, Paved Walkways Through The Beds, An Arched Bridge Connecting The Site To A Visitor Parking Lot, Three Arbors, Ornate Brick And Steel Fence, Americans With Disabilities Act Compliant
